Profile

Yes, this is the seventh instalment of my humble website, and for those of you who don't know me I'm a 21-year old Computer Science & Multimedia Systems graduate from Lancaster University, currently working in South East Essex College's Interactive Learning Strategies team. The role involves developing and maintaining the various college internal/external web-based applications based on Microsoft IIS and the .NET Framework.

Photos from my final year at university can be found in the photo gallery, along with some other random ones from earlier years.

Old Sites

Yes, this is the bit where you can see some of the sites that have gone into decay over the years. I hold no responsibility for their content, accuracy nor reliability...

  • ~ecs The last version of the index.html page on the Direct Connection ISP that hosted most of the sites below. Be warned - it includes some Flash animation and sound effects...
  • Howlin' Homepages Spice Girls Homepage (1996-7) - Yes, read it and I weep... This was one of the first ever websites decicated to the girls and also my most successful site, with over a quarter of a million hits during its 18-24 month lifetime. Incorporating lots of annoying JavaScript applets, out-of-date news and dodgy newspaper scans, this site actually received some prestigous design awards. In hindsight, I shouldn't have wasted my time on this pile of turd, but then again it was quite profitable. Don't you just love banner ads!
  • Girlzone (1996) - A site I put together for my sister. Well, she actually gave me a load of text files which I think she pinched off other websites and magazines.
  • Marc Woolfson's Homepage (1996-7) - Including the first anniversary of my original homepage, along with cheesy graphics and some classy clipart.
  • Howlin' Homepages Travis Homepage (1997) - One of the first and worst Travis websites (when they were actually quite good)
  • UK Tribute to Renée Zellweger (1997) - Just after the release of Jerry Maguire (and long before BJ's D). A very pathetic site, although I was a tennager...
  • Wolfy's World (1998) - A poor version of my original homepage with a rather interesting video. I seem to remember spending hours playing with my dad's new Digital Camcorder just to end up with that pointless result.
  • Tenerife 98 (1998) - To try and keep in contact with those I met on holiday when I was 16, all those years ago! It worked to an extenet, but my apologies over that Blur sound thing.
  • MarcNet (1999) - A more comprehensive version of my personal homepage once I had worked out some of the pointless features of Paint Shop Pro
  • Aj6 Southend (1999-2000) - For when I was joint regional chair
  • It's A Garage Thing (1999) - I used to actually like UK Garage and began dedicating my time to building this site. But then I 'heard' the light, if you know what I mean.
  • AVDV Systems (2000-1) - Of of my Dad's old computer companies (I really should have used a database backbone)
  • Wolfy.co.uk (2000) - A more comprehensive personal homepage, with a bit of Flash added and not actually that bad site design. I don't think anyone owns the domain name anymore.
  • K2 Baltihouse (2000-3) - A local Indian Takeaway website, recently updated with a database structure enabling food orders to be built up and the owner himself to update menu details.
  • Block 10 (2000-1) - For all of us who lived at Block 10, Pendle College 2000-1. Includes some photos that are now in the gallery and an interesting piece of Flash
  • LU J-Soc (2000-3) - Lancaster University J-Soc Homepage - I was webmaster 2000-2, but recently updated the site to incorporate an admin section
  • 87.7 Bailrigg FM (2001-2) - I was webmaster for the Lancaster University's Student Radio station 2001-2. There's not much visibly left of my input into the site, although the Roses 2002 mini site was quite successful. Shame we lost (it was a fix).
  • Marc Woolfson's Homepage (2001) - 2001 version of this site
  • Marc Woolfson's Homepage (2002) - 2002 version of this site

So what didn't make it?

  • Euro 96 - I have no idea where my hard copy of this comprehensive site went. I remember that it was a pain in the posterior trying to keep it all up-to-date, and now I've got nothing to show for it!
