This site is fully W3C (XHTML 1.0 Strict & CSS 2.0) compliant. This means that the site should be interoperable across differing web browsers and system setups. My web hosts are AliveWWW whom I have been with for over 3 years. They offer varying UNIX hosting accounts from £30 - £200 per annum which include PHP4, Apache ASP, SSL, SSI, (Secure) POP3/SMTP, Stats, GD Graphics Library, Sub Domains, Web Users, MySQL/PostgreSQL databases as well as loads of disk space and bandwidth. The domain name was registered with UKReg who offer .co.uk addresses for £2.95 (+VAT) per year (min 2 years) and a comprehensive DNS control panel.

This website utilises most of the above technologies, with emphasis on PHP for MySQL database access. I'm gradually moving over to XML for content delivery and storage but it's not in my good books at the moment, so it may be a while before an RSS feed becomes available.

This site was built using HTML-Kit, a basic but customisable and extendible web page editor. I haven't been using this software for a very long time, and only installed it after my latest system rebuild. Compared to Allaire HomeSite (my old editor, now owned by the overpowering Macromedia), HTML-Kit is less stable and does not provide very good CSS support (until you install one of the plugins, that is). However, it does have some very useful compliancy checking and page analysis built-in (the HTML to XHTML convertor is a very useful tool for cleaning up tags). All graphics were created in Adobe Photoshop.
